RESIDENT ARTISTS
Wendy Hailey:
Wendy Hailey is an underwater artist from Memphis, TN. She has spent the majority of her career trying to capture the spectacular effects made by light source refractions on human skin when submerged in water. The figurative paintings she creates convey the complex emotions associated with being in bodies of water as well as lure the viewer into the sensuality of the experience.
Wendy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Memphis College of Art in 2002. She has exhibited and been published over 20 times throughout Tennessee. Wendy's career has included finishing furniture, jewelry design and mural production including work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
She hopes to continue to explore the many new concepts and techniques that are continually introduced from such a fleeting subject of which is new enough that there are no master artists to lend a technical hand.
Jodi Heavner is a versatile artist from Milan, TN. From the time she created a "Just Say No!" poster in Kindergarten, Jodi has known she loves art! Since then, she has developed her craft in drawing, illustration, painting, book artz and any new technique she encounters. Focusing on bettering herself and the world around her, Jodi loves to learn and teach.
Jodi received a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009 in Pre-Art Therapy (Psychology and Art). Her achievements include winning a State and National scratch art competition, illustrating two children's books, and exhibiting and placing in multiple exhibitions. Her career includes being a sign maker, an Administrative Assistant and Social Media Marketer, an Art Program Coordinator and Supervisor at educational centers, and a volunteer at art museums and historical sites.
Jodi is invested in bringing art to the masses, and is working each day to accomplish that goal.
